How we verify data
Every number on School Metar has a status, a source and a date. Here is what each one means.

Data statuses
- Verified. Confirmed by an authoritative or direct counterpart source.
- School reported. Published by the school itself; not independently verified.
- Estimated. Calculated by School Metar. Methodology is disclosed.
- Unconfirmed. From press, directories or crowd-sourced data. Needs confirmation.
- Not provided. No reliable information available yet. This does not mean the school lacks it.
An airline's own announcement of a partnership is “verified”. The same claim on the school's website alone is “school reported”. Trade press and directories are “unconfirmed” until we find a primary source.
Airfield and runway data
Runway lengths, widths, surfaces and threshold positions come from OurAirports, a public-domain dataset maintained by volunteers. We show them as unconfirmed until checked against the country's Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP). The airfield drawings on each profile are generated from that data.
Profile metrics
Information completeness is the share of twelve topics we have documented: website, direct contact, training airfield, runway data, regulatory approval, programmes, fleet, pricing, accommodation, languages, year established and airline links.
Verification coverage is the share of documented facts with the status “verified”.
Student review score is the average of approved reviews. A review is marked “verified student” only after we see evidence of training.
None of these is a quality rating. A small school with little online presence can be excellent and still score low on completeness.
Comparisons and matching
We never declare an overall winner. The matching tool treats missing information as unknown, not as a failure, and shows every reason a school matched.
Prices
We show a price only when a school publishes it or confirms it in writing, with its date. Otherwise the profile says “Contact school for pricing.” Estimates in the cost calculator are the visitor's own.
Corrections
Anyone can request a correction from a school's profile. We change a fact when we can cite a source for the new value, and keep the history.
